WHAT IS ADVENTURE RACE?

Adventure racing is an ultra-endurance event that requires coed teams to excel in many disciplines through a variety of ecosystems: running, biking, paddling, climbing, swimming, sailing, riding horseback through forests, mountains, deserts, bogs, lakes, plains, and oceans. You may race hours, days or even weeks...

"Raid Gauloises" is the longest and toughest adventure race in the world. This one takes place every year in a different part of the globe.

The idea? Reaching new horizons, new limits, new skys... and melding with this exciting nature.

HOW DID WE BECOME "SPEEDLINK"?

Everything started on the Internet - where each member actually met - we met, trained together, quickly became close friends. We now share together our passion for Nature and Sports.

We all come from different background (Sports, Business and Media), Education, Location (France, Japan, Australia), Culture and Religion (Buddhist, Catholic etc...).

WHY ADVENTURE RACING?

Many people wonder why people like us get into such kind of hard core hobby. What fun do we have pushing ourselves to the limit? Why spend hours of training to get ready for a race? Is it really worth it considering the relatively high cost of each adventure race?

I have to admit that our passion for adventure racing is difficult to explain. I guess it all due to our character and our love for both sports, nature and the competitive spirit that reins inside of us. Adventure racing is like a return to the true source of nature and life. It brings us the satisfaction of seeing an untouched and pure world. Escaping from metropolis like Tokyo, discovering new horizons and reaching new summit with just what the nature gave us brings in each of us an indescribable satisfaction.

No mechanics, no engines,... just human power... just a team with a smile and lots of determination. Far away from the pollution and the cities... we have found in the adventure racing a way to re-discover the world and ourselves.

Every time, a new experience begins with a new challenge, Afterwards, the mind and our definition of "life" is forever transformed.
