HERE IS A BEST COLLECTION OF ALL THE PICTURES WE HAVE TAKEN ALONG OUR ADVENTURES

   PHOTOS GALLERY - BEST SHOTS

20/07/03
We are getting close to the end of CP2. The numerous bridges we're crossing are slowling us down as we can't run on them (would be a shame to fall over isn't it?) (larger)

20/07/03
Fabien crossing the wooden bridge along and 10 to 15 meters above the river. The bridge is old and slippery. (larger)

20/07/03 Brodie jumping from the 8 meters rock. That was the only way to go to keep going along the river treck. (larger)

20/07/03
The river section is simply magic for the eyes. It is by far the best river treck section I have ever seen in a race. As you can see, the water is crystal clear. (larger)

20/07/03
Peter on the left side of the numerous waterfalls we passed. (larger)

20/07/03
Fabien running on a flat bit of the treck. (larger)

20/07/03
We are a bit late but still positive and ready to go. We have been now racing for 8 hours and 30 minutes. (larger)

20/07/03
Fabien jumping from a 3 to 4 meters rock. Sometimes it is safer to jump straight into deep (2 meters) waters than trying to climb down slippery rocks.  (larger)

21/06/03  10-30
The rock-climbing section consisted of a top rope climb on natural cliff of about difficulty 8 at the bottom to 16 at the top. The higher we manage to climb, the more time was taken off our final time. (larger)

21/06/03 11-08
Great fun riding down on this trail. (larger)

21/06/03 11-35
Speeding down the single-track hiking trail from the top of the first mountain. After this downhill, we have to climb another mountain to reach CP2. (larger)

21/06/03 11-40
Climbing the next  mountain to the checkpoint. The mountain we've just come over is in the background. We passed 2 teams taking this trail instead of the forestry road. (larger)

21/06/03 11-50
Repairing the second of two punctures that I suffered within 10 minutes of each other. Both punctures were from a cutting my rear tyre. (larger)

21/06/03 15-54
Finally heading off up the river to the next checkpoint. (larger)

Photo provided by Azumino24 photographers. (larger)

21/06/03 16-22
Crossing the river on the first leg. You can see the rope we have to follow crossing the river again to the top right . (larger)

21/06/03 16-41
We found this wire suspension bridge which made it easier to cross the river. (larger)

19/04/03 14:04
Brodie jumping over the waterfall. (larger)

22/06/03 04-20
The sunrise from the top of the mountain. Reveling at finally reaching the top, we are 15 minutes away from being told that we missed a cutoff time and the race is over for us.  (larger)

19/04/03 15:16
What you don't see on this picture is that it actually keeps going up the same way after that hill. Have fun running that up! ;-) (larger)

19/04/03 16:20
Damn! That's the first time I see such a thing! My tube poped out of tire while going downhill on the way back. Brodie and I are amazed the thing didn't blow up. (larger

25/01/03 11:33
The view through the trees was beautiful in the early morning. (larger)

25/01/03 11:28
Fabien negotiating the trail. (larger)

25/01/03 12:05
Made it to the top of the hill, it's mostly downhill from here. (larger)

25/01/03 12:22
The air was so clean that from the mountains we could count the buildings in the middle of Tokyo. It was actually clearer than this photo makes it seem. (larger)

25/01/03 12:54
Fabien picking his way down between the rocks. (larger)

25/01/03 12:28
Brodie devoting full attention to a bumpy bit of trail. (larger)

Brodie happily following the downhill path. (larger)

22/09/02 07:30
Our first puncture (captured on film by the staff photographer). (larger)

22/09/02 07:14
Coming down fast. (larger)

22/09/02 08:37
Peter: "Stuff it! I'll push for a while". (larger)

22/09/02 09:40
Just out of the tunnel and Brodie putting his backpack back on (had to get the headlamp for the tunnel because it was so dark). (larger)

22/09/02 09:45
The trail goes straight up the hill. (larger)

22/09/02 09:55
It doesn't stop going up for about 1km. (larger)

22/09/02 12:20
Finishing the trail run stage, coming down to the river. Watch your steps! (larger)

23/09/02 11:00
On the road, heading home. (larger)
